So this was my only week off before school starts. I can't believe that I am just 22 days from starting my sophomore year. As I reflect, I feel as though the last 2 years have flown by in such a whirlwind that I have been reluctant to actually think about all that has occurred in my life. I spent the majority of this week organizing my life and getting the necessary items in order to begin my school year. It's strange because I am so used to the "back to school" shopping and jitters that I had last year and all the previous years in high school, and now I am at a place where I feel like JMU is home. I can't be nervous to go back because in essence, this has been my home for the last year and will continue to be so for many more.
This week was a needed break and I feel rather replenished after all the craziness of life had gotten me down for the count. So now, I am excited to embark on the journeys that lie ahead, particularly those with Orientation. Our FROGS (first year orientation guides) arrive shortly and I am very excited to prepare them to work with the first year students that have come to mean so much to me.
I look forward to this week of being back in the office-a job that I enjoyed and missed very much. I am excited for a week of light work and time to just recap on all that life has thrown at me.

The New Beginning
At one point in my life, I was very good at keeping those I love up to date on what I am doing. Then, somewhere after graduating from High School, spending a wonderful year in Brazil, and beginning college I lost that part of my life. So, if there is one thing I want to work on this year it is to keep this blog in order to remain in contact with more people.
Right now I am enjoying my only week off for the entire summer. I have been working as apart of the JMU Orientation program and loving every second of it. This past week I attended the Multi University Intergroup Dialog Conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Initially I didn't think that the conference would impact me on a personal level, but instead help me gather important information for my university. But, I left having gained a new appreciation for academics and renewed outlook on my life. It was what I needed, so I feel very blessed to have been able to attend with three other amazing individuals.
Today I spent time organizing my life. I am trying to prepare before orientation starts again so that I have some sanity during the crazy weeks that are about to follow. So for now, this is a good start.
Much love,
